The Algha Group is a small family business employing just ten people including Peter's wife, son & daughter. Historically the company was the main manufacturer for the NHS and at its peak produced 11,500 pairs of spectacle frames a week. Together with the Milky Bar Kid, John Lennon and Gandhi, many of us probably wore them.
Whilst the round eye lives on and continues in popularity the classic half-eye also complements the resurgent dress code of today.
If you have never tried these clip-ons then you really are missing a trick. The magnifying lenses offer additional magnification for document reading, fine needlecraft, model making etc., providing comfort, clarity and the accuracy necessary for detailed work.
We're delighted to introduce these dove-grey coloured reading glasses in a feminine and gently sweeping cat's eye spectacle frame manufactured by Rodenstock, and glazed in the U.K. with Trivex MAR reading lenses.
It is, of course, a design that's currently very popular and we think that the clouds, wind & rain could not possibly dampen your mood when wearing these, in fact they can help brighten anyones's day. Just look what the red shoes did for Dorothy!
We realise that it's often very handy to be able to peer over your reading glasses, and we currently have a delicious "pop up" offer relating to selected designs within our plastic frames and metal frames categories.
From now until 10pm (GMT) we're offering 15% discount on half eye reading glasses within these two sections, but be careful not to miss it as it really will end at 10pm tonight.
Just like clothes your reading glasses can say a lot about who you are or perhaps who you would like to be. We all make changes according to who we are with and the occasion we are attending. Gone are the days when just one pair would do. We can now opt to look formal like the indispensible P.A., intelligent like the college student or chic like the businesswoman. Today we have a little tempter for those of you who would like to upgrade your reading glasses and not break the bank too much!
From now until 10pm (GMT) we're offering 15% discount on all designer reading glasses, but please remember however that it will not be valid beyond 10pm tonight.
We just love monocles and always smile approvingly when we see someone sporting a fine specimen.
We supply a variety of gold and silver coloured galleried monocles which have always been our mainstay, but recently we've introduced a gold coloured monocle without a gallery. Tricky you might think. Well, we are reliably informed that for some it can be the perfect fit.
We like the shape and style of these rimless glasses with larger lenses so much that we're pleased to be able to offer them with the choice of clear as well as tinted lenses which were more recently added to the site, and were the subject of the last blog post.
For those of you who prefer your lenses a little larger why not check out these rimless reading glasses? They're glazed in the U.K. with a soft medium-brown tint, a large lens height of 45mm and finished with bronze coloured arms and matching nose bridge.
