Savile Row Eyewear

savile row, gold half-eye spectaclesHaving sold Savile Row spectacle frames for a number of years what a joy to listen to the main man himself, MD Peter Viner, interviewed recently for BBC Radio 4's Saturday Live.

The Algha Group is a small family business employing just ten people including Peter's wife, son & daughter. Historically the company was the main manufacturer for the NHS and at its peak produced 11,500 pairs of spectacle frames a week. Together with the Milky Bar Kid, John Lennon and Gandhi, many of us probably wore them.

Whilst the Savile Row round-eye lives on and continues in popularity, the gold executive half-eye spectacle frame also complements the resurgent dress code of today.

Oval Reading Glasses

oval shaped plastic reading glasses. We've just added these 'Berkeley & Son' oval shaped reading glasses to our bespoke (plastic) section. We absolutely love them, the small classic shape and colouring are quite exquisite.

Unusually for a plastic spectacle frame they are fitted with 'rocker' nose pads which gently & comfortably lift the frame from the wearer's face.
